The blood transfusion committee requires comprehensive logistics planning and management to deliver blood components with safety specifications for patients. Therefore, a study about packaging and transportation aspects of relatively new blood components logistics is necessary.

Material and Methods: Experiments were conducted to monitor the temperature change in red cell concentrates and fresh-frozen or thawed plasma during shipping to the final wards. The temperature was maintained in an environmental chamber within 2-10 0C and data were analyzed with transfer for ready use in patients and return to Blood Transfusion Center. For monitoring Crossmatch/Transfusion (C/T) ratio in each ward. The data showed it could support a work load of 35% also easy and flexible for wards. In the future ; all wards are may ready for everyday use. Even the logistical benefits for blood transfusion services have been demonstrated, the pilot projects are implemented. If the benefits – outside of the cold chain – are seen in logistics, this will definitely prevail in blood transfusion services in Srinagarind hospital.

}, number={5}, journal={Srinagarind Medical Journal}, author={Tantanapornkul, Puthida and Phunikom, Kucharin}, year={2016}, month={Oct.}, pages={55} }
