They were randomly assigned to one of two groups.  All of them received 2 ml solution injection in mesosalpinx each side. Group one received it as 1%Lidocaine 2 ml. (20 mg). And the other group received it with 0.9%NSS 2 ml. The intra-operative and 1 hour post-operative pain were measured by using a numerical rating score (NRS) from 0-10.</p><p><strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Result:</span></strong><strong> </strong>There was no significant difference in the mean of intra-operative and post-operative NRS between the lidocaine group and placebo group (6.28 vs.7.15, p-value 0.211 and 2.5 vs. 2.9, p-value 0.44 respectively).</p><strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Conclusion:</span> </strong>Lidocaine injection in mesosalpinx had no effective intra-operative and post-operative pain relief in postpartum tubal sterilization under local anesthesia.
