The Sapotaceae of Thailand

Abstract

A study of Thai Sapotaceae recorded nine genera and 45 species including I 2 endemic and two introduced species. The largest genus is Madhuca with 16 species. Seven new records of Madhuca floribunda, M. motleyana. Manilkara littoralis, Palaquium hispidum, P. impressinerviwn. P. maingayi and P. ottolanderi from Thailand and a new record of Pouteria grandifolia for Cambodia are added. New synonyms for Diploknema siamensis, Madhuca dongnaiensis. M. thorelii, Palaquium garrettii, P. sukoei, Xantolis burmanica and X. cambodiana are also established. Keys to genera and species are presented.
