Abstract

Dendrocalamus khoonmengii Sungkaew, A. Teerawatananon & Hodk., a forest bamboo from Nakhon Si Thammarat Province in peninsular Thailand is described as a new species. It appears to be closely related to three species from peninsular Malaysia on the basis of culm sheath and leaf blade characters. A species description and an illustration are provided.
