The samples were 80 newborn mothers who just delivered newborn babies less than 4 weeks, returned home and was under care of district health promotion hospitals of Narathiwat province from January 5, 2019 to July 1, 2019. The study samples were selected using purposive sampling based on qualifications. The tools used to collect data composed of personal data, self-esteem questionnaire, social support questionnaire, beliefs towards postpartum blue questionnaire and the Edinburgh Postnatal Depressive Scale (EPDS), received Cronbach’s alpha coefficient at 0.85, 0.81, 0.97 and 0.74, respectively. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and logistic regression analysis.<br />According to the findings, the Thai muslim newborn mothers were found having normal mental health condition, having sadness 7.5%, having postpartum depression 32.5%, having self-esteem at an average level and having beliefs about postpartum depression saying that it was unpredictable. The study also showed that low social support is able to increase postpartum blue chance in Thai muslim newborn mothers 12.91% with a statistical significance (p < 0.05).</p>}, number={2}, journal={Princess of Naradhiwas University Journal}, author={Sawan, Sarinee and Topaeroh, Muslin}, year={2022}, month={May}, pages={246–281} }
