Abstract

The Cyprinoid fish is recognized as a very important group among freshwater fish because of the great number of species and economical value. Almost 250 species and found in freshwater all over Thailand. From many sources of informations, it was found that 131 species have been described as  type specimens. Most of these are still in good condition. However, only 116 species were examined. These fish are kept in several Fish Museums, some are in Europe and some in the United States. All but five species, which have not yet been located, has the kind of types (holotype, paratype or syntype), the locators, the museum catalogue numbers, the collecting localities and dates, and the citation of the original descriptions of types.
