Family Physician and Home Visit

Abstract

          Home visit is a role of family physician. Health problem situation of Thai people such as the increasing of chronically ill and elderly patients are now creating an increased need for conducting home visit. To conduct home visits effectively, family physician must have knowledge, skill and positive attitude toward them. The properly conducted home visit can improve patient health, satisfaction and strengthen the doctor-patient relationship.

          การเยี่ยมดูแลผู้ป่วยที่บ้านเป็นบทบาทหนึ่งของแพทย์เวชศาสตร์ครอบครัว ซึ่งนับวันจะมีความสำคัญมากขึ้น เนื่องจากสภาพปัญหาสุขภาพของคนไทยในปัจจุบันที่มีจำนวนผู้ป่วยโรคเรื้อรังและผู้สูงอายุเพิ่มขึ้น   การเยี่ยมดูแลผู้ป่วยที่บ้านอย่างมีประสิทธิภาพนั้นแพทย์เวชศาสตร์ครอบครัวต้องมีความรู้ ทักษะ และเจตคติที่ดี  จึงจะส่งผลลัพธ์ที่ดีต่อสุขภาพ, ความพึงพอใจของผู้ป่วยและครอบครัว  และยังช่วยสร้างความสัมพันธ์ที่ดีระหว่างแพทย์กับผู้ป่วยด้วย
