Motivation of Nutritionists in Northeastern Provincial Hospital in Performance under Nutritional Working Standard

Abstract

Background and objective: The purpose of this study was to study motivation of  nutritionists  in  northeastern provincial hospital  in  performing under  nutritional working  standard.

Methods : This is  a Cross sectional descriptive  research. The studied population consist of  76  nutritionists working  in  19 northeastern provincial  hospitals of Thailand.   The research instruments were the questionnaires and focus group discussion technique. The validity was checked by 3 experts and with the Cronach coefficient of 0.96.

Results: The motivation affecting the administration was at ‘high’ level (X=3.51±0.37).  The performance under nutritional working standard  was found at ‘high’ level (X=3.58 ±0.67).  There was  a positive correlation  between the motivation and nutritionists  who work  under the nutritional  working standard  of the Northeast   hospital at  medium  level   (r = 0.57,p < 0.001); motivation factor was  (r = 0.53, p-value < 0.001); hygiene factor was found at medium (r =0.51 p < 0.001) Fro the problem and recommendation,  The  problem of administration and organization development was found 40  percent.

Conclusion: The motivation of nutritionists in Northeastern provincial hospitals who work under the nutritional working   standards was in high level. It can be organized in the serial order according to the correlation as follow the characteristic of work, responsibility, the progress of  the position, working status, policy and administration and the relationship among the workers in the aspect of administration and control respectively.
