The Development of Health care Systems for the Movement Disability Patient at Sakon Nakhon Hospital
Abstract
Background and Rationale : Sakon Nakhon Hospital realize the importance of a quality service which corresponded with the vision of the hospital. Therefore, we have developed a health care system for the movement disability patient. The system emphasized on patient by development of patient and family skill to perform the self-care, which were able to confront with any problems appropriately and end up with a good quality of life.
Objectives: To improve the quality and potential health care for the movement disability patient.
Methods: It is a participatory action research which emphasized on the participation of stakeholder for situation analysis. The study with access to needs of service receivers and providers together with human resource development, system management planning, execution and joint process assessment. Data were collected and analyzed in both qualitative and qualitative methods.
Results: The study indicated that the development of health care system for the movement disability patients should be as follow. 1) One stop service, 2) holistic and continue health care process for 3 phases which are preparation phase, skill improvement phase and home care phase, 3) 24 hour phone service for health consulting at 042-715392 and 042-715364 and 4) Apply physical equipment which can be made locally at a low cost and compatible quality with the imported ones such as suspension bed, bed for eliminate bed sore, handgrip for finger exercise and pulley for shoulder exercise.
Conclusion: The developed health car system, after applied with 58 clients, revealed that all of the participants that received the nearby service station have the highest satisfactory level, no complication found after the service and no re-admission within 28 days after service with the improvement of life quality.
