KKU Coaxial Circle Circuit

Abstract

The KKU coaxial circle circuit is simply constructed from available materials in the operating theatre. Analysis of arterial blood gases are compared between this and the conventional circle circuit in 40 patients undergoning surgery at Srinagarind Hospital. Statistically , there is a significant difference in pH., but not in pCO₂ and pO₂ .However, all values studied are within normal range. The advantages of the KKU coaxial circle over the conventional circle circuit include light weight, small size greater humidity and flexibility, low price and being the appropriate technology for the developing countries.
