Abstract

Tuberculosis is the common fatal disease in many developing countries including Thailand where its trends in morbidity and mortality are increasing because of the epidemic of HIV infection throughout  the countries.  However, tuberculosis can be cured by completing ambulatory course of chemotherapy, regular drugs taking, within only four to six months. The majority of tuberculosis patients need no hospitalization for treatment. To control tuberculosis effectively , for preventing us and our relatives from illness and dying of tuberculosis, we need serious cooperation from the government and community to find out, as early as possible and as much as possible, the infectious cases of tuberculosis and sputum-smear positive patients. and render them permanently no longer infections by short course chemotherapy
