The Evaluation of The Six – Faculty – Joint – Field : Comparison of the Marks and Attitudes of Stuldents with Differences in Skill Levels.
Abstract
More then 300 students from 6 faculties in khon Kaen University worked together on Community Medicine III Field work. They were divided in to 10 groups. Each groups, consisting of about 30 students with different skills based on their disciplines, carried out a specific project faculty, categorized the students in each specific project into 2 groups. The skilled students were group I. And the unskilled ones were group II. The level of marks and attitudes between the two groups were analysed. The results revealed that the students in group I have higher marks than group II significantly at p – value < 0.001, the relative risk is 2.97 (the 95% C.I. = 2.21 – 3.73). There was no statistical difference in the attitudes of the 2 groups. The previous G.P.A of students had no effect on the marks for this field work. The students with good marks had better attitudes for future community work than the others at a significantly at ( p < 0.05).
The recommendation for the project in the future : The project should be divided into 2 parts. The first part should allow students from each faculty to perform their discipline based activities. The second part is the general tasks that can be carried on without difference in disciplines. The evaluation should be divided according to the activities in each part.
