Servey of Steroid in Ya-Chud

Abstract

A survey of Ya-Chud samples in Muang Khon Kaen Distric was carried out. Ya-Chud refers to a combination of different drugs in a form of capsule and tablet and packed in small plastic bags. We obtained 27 antipyretic and 36 analgesic packages for this study. Our purpose was to identify the amount of steroids,prednisolone,which are able to bring about the ndesirable effects such as its interfering with body immunity,disturbing normal steroid production,causing gastric ulcer and osteopotosis. By using UV-Spectrophotometer and High Performance Liquid Chromatography. We found Steroid in 37 out of 63 samples. Steroid was found in 9 samples of antipyretic Ya-Chud from which are prednisolone in 4 samples are dexamethasone in 5, analgesic Ya-Chud of 36 analgesic we found steroid in 28 samples,prednisolone 3, dexamethasone 17, and both prednisolone and dexamethasone 8.
