Progress of Eradication of Poliomyelitis in NaKhonratchasima, Chaiyaphum, Burirum, Surin and Sisaket

Abstract

The ministry of public health has established and Eradication of poliomyelits in Thailand for 1992.   This will initiate the polio vaccine immunization and surveillance of acute flaccid paralysis programmes.  It has been revealed that a higher coverage and percentage of Polio vaccine immunizations in 1992 and 1993, resulted in 3 and 12 cases of acute flaccid paralysis for each year respectively, although the polio virus was not found under laboratory detection.
