The incidence of Nosocomial infection in Srinagarind Hospital.

Abstract

AbstractThe incidence of Nosocomial infection in Srinagarind Hospital during July-December 1994 was 3.89 percentage.  Surveillance was done in 29 wards. Not included service of OPD and OR. 
The nosocomial infection rate was highest in ICU ward, (32.89)% and Medicine Department (8.63%).  The common site of infection were lower respiratory tract infections, , urinary tract infections, and surgical wound infections (36.55%, 34.3% and 16.24%).
The common causation nosocomial pathogen were Klebseilla pneumoniae, Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Acinetobacter antitratus.  The most antibiotic for treatment in these nosocominal infection were Gentamicin, Amikacin and Cloxacillin, Cost of antibiotic medication were three millions baths.
