ABNORMAL PAP SMEAR IN AMPHURE KUMPHAWAPI

From September 1992 to October 1994, 13,234 women in Amphure Kumphawapi were taken Pap smear for screening and prevention of cervical cancer by the local cervical cancer prevention program. 33 women with abnormal Pap smear [class 3,4,5] were found, the estimated incidence was 0.249% , their average age were 44.76 years old, the yongest was 20 years old. Multiple sexual partner was the significant risk, OR = 3.34 [ p=0.00459].
The result indicated that to decrease the high incidence of cervical cancer there should be the effective nation cervical cancer prevention program in all over rural area of Thailand.
