The Validity of the Cardiac Rehabilitation Manual in Cardiovascular Surgery Patients after Discharge from Roi Et Hospital

Abstract

Background and rationale: There are various cardiac rehabilitation guidelines. This study was to study the validity of the cardiac rehabilitation manual as a guideline in Roi Et province.

Methods: Study the validity of the cardiac rehabilitation manual and the validity knowledge test by 3 experts analyzed until IOC≥0.8 (Index of item objective congruence: IOC). Study the physical therapist knowledge scores before and after reading the manual on cardiac rehabilitation and the satisfaction of physical therapists with the manual.

Results: the validity of the manual found that there were 3 items mean IOC < 0.8. The validity of the knowledge test found that there were 4 items mean IOC < 0.8. After amendment, IOC > 0.8 for all items.

The mean knowledge before reading the manual was 16.38 ± 1.72 points and after reading the manual was 17.81 ± 1.45. The scores after reading the manual were statistically significantly higher than before using the manual. (p<0.001).The satisfaction of the manual was at a high level, with an average score of 4.44±0.43.

Conclusion: The validity of the cardiac rehabilitation manual in patients after cardiothoracic surgery and discharge from Roi Et hospital is accurate. Physical therapists at district hospitals in Roi Et province had a high level of satisfaction with the manual and have an increase in knowledge scores after reading the manual
