Outcome of Maneevej Adjuvant in Carpal Tunnel Syndrome Conservative Treatment

Abstract

Background and objective : Carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS) is common hand and wrist problem that has various treatments. The investigators applied Maneevej manipulation for improving efficiency and success rate of CTS conservative treatment.

Method: This study was quasi randomized control study, in 140 clinical diagnosis carpal tunnel syndrome patients, in KhonKaen hospital. There are 118 females in study compared with conventional conservative group and Maneevej group.

Result :After 6 weeks of follow up, 3 of 66 in the conventional conservative group had success of treatment, BCTSQ scale decreased from 52.8 + 5.2  to 44.2 +3.1 . Compare to the Maneevej group, that had success  8 of 67, BCTSQ scale decreased from 53.3 + 4.7  to 37.2 + 2.8

Conclusion :Maneevej manipulation can bring better conservative treatment of  CTS.
