Factors Affecting Exercise Behavior of Medical Students in Kalasin Hospital

Background and Objective:Providing health promotion curriculum for medical student, the important issue for learning activity setting is health behavior data especially the exercise behavior of medical students. This curriculum is important for development to health promotion medical school. This study aims to study factors affecting the exercise behavior of medical students who have studied at medical education center , Kalasin hospital.
Method: Descriptive study by closed – end questionnaire was conducted on medical students who have studied at medical education center, Kalasin hospital in the 2012 academic year. Data were analyzed by using average percentage, mean and standard deviation.
Result: There were 63 medical students, 16 were males (25.40%). For perception of exercise, the most average point was the exercise make them healthy (3.52) and the least average point was the exercise causing waste time for their clinical learning (2.04) . For attitude of exercise, the most average point was the exercise being the good behavior (3.50) and the least average point was the exercise being suitable for only athlete (1.52) . About supportive factors for exercise from medical education center, the most average point was the convenience for going to health center (4.36) and the least average point was the adequate and proper documents for exercise (3.20). And supportive factor for exercise from social, the most average point was the providing of equipments for exercise (3.92) and the least average point was the participation and facilitation of medical teachers in exercise (3.24).
Conclusions :The medical students at Kalasin medical education center had the good perception and attitude for exercise. Medical education center has provided adequate equipments and convenience setting for exercise. The medical students need more proper documents for exercise and the participation of medical teachers in exercise.
