The Evaluation of Mobile Units of Blood Donation; Blood Transfusion Center, Faculty of Medicine, Khon Kaen University,Thailand

Abstract

Backgruond and objective : Mobiles session units of blood donation are necessary for provide blood stock in Blood Transfusion Center, faculty of Medicine, KKU. Because of we have to supplied blood components to Queen Sirikit Heart center and most of hospital in North Eastern part of Thailand. There for we need to evaluated the process for mobile units.

Methods; The data have collected from June 2014 to January 2015 (8 months). Normally the mobile donation units was set 9 to 13 sites per month. Datas were evaluated at the course of effect to mobile donation unit.

Results;  From 8 months of mobile donation plan and motivated to blood donation. The mobile site is 86 sites. Most of site 44.2 % been the government offices or district offices. Donors 82% can donated and 18% not passed the protocol for blood donation.  Causes for reject blood donors are health history, low hemoglobin, Blood pressure out of range and others are 59.4,28.3,10.6 and 1.7% respectively.  The causes of delay to move on donation are time waiting for mobile cars, doctor and staffs  is 22.2, 27.8 and 50 % respectively.

Conclusion; These results recommend to develop and need to solve the causes which effect for mobile blood donation units of Blood Transfusion center, faculty of Medicine, Khon Kaen University.
