The Behavior of 3rd Year Student in Technology Ceramics Program, Who Has Meditation before Class, Course Research Methodology of Ceranlics Technology Semester
This research investigated the effect of mediation on the behavior of 3rd year students in a Technology Ceramics Program. Students were asked to do 15 minutes of mediation before a class in research methodology for ceramics technology in the second semester of the 2009 academic year. Interviews, observations and assessment of learning behavior were used to investigate the effect of this mediation on students' behavior. The results showed that students were satisfied with the meditation activity at a high level. Their attention span increased by an average of 25 minutes. Students were able to concentrate and learn better in class. Their level of emotional intelligence, ideas and physical health were positively developed. In terms of morality and ethics, students reported that they were able to reflect critically, and they became more honest and forgiving. It can be concluded that meditation can effectively improve the process of learning and teaching.
