Abstract

Background and Objective: Srinagarind hospital is tertiary care. Nurses are the first personnnels to help the arrested patients correctly in time. Nurse’s knowledge in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) is required for evaluation.

Methods: This study was a descriptive study.The study population were 206 registered nurses in Srinagarind hospital. Data was collected by a self-administered questionnaire that developed by researchers. Data was analyzed by descriptive statistic and inferential statistic.

Results: The overall response rate were 74.3 %(153/206).63.40% of sample size had knowledge of ACLS and pass the test and 95%CI(55.19-70.92), Median 16(interquartile = 3), Full score was 20.Duration since last training was the statistically significant factor associated with ACLS knowledge.But frequency of participation in ACLS and departments of working did not associate with ACLS knowledge

Conclusions: The number of registered nurses in Srinagarind hospital who had knowledge and pass the test were increased (compare to cardiopulmonary resuscitation unit). Duration since last training associated with ACLS knowledge. Thus, regular participation in ACLS training workshop is recommended.
