CD-ROM : the new technology for today scholars

บทคัดย่อ

CD-ROM, the application of laser disks, is introduced as the most recent media in information storage and retrieval system.  Its background, characteristics and usage in the library public and technical services are described.  Most of the CD-ROM databases produced recently for users are briefly reviewed.  The interesting advantages and prospect of CD-ROM are also fully discussed and foreseen.
