Acute dacryocystitis due to Pseudomonas pseudomallei

บทคัดย่อ

The first case of melioidosis presented as acute dacryocystitis was reported.  The patient developed recurrent acute dacryocystitis 3 times in the past two years.  Diagnosis was made by Gram staining and culturing pus from fistula.  The patient was treated by combination of doxycycline and cotrimoxazole orally for 3 mouths.  Dacryocystorhinostomy was performed to correct nasolacrimal duct obstruction.  There was no recurrent infection in one year of follow up period.
