อุบัติการณ์ของผู้ป่วยพยายามฆ่าตัวตายที่มารับการรักษาที่แผนกฉุกเฉินโรงพยาบาลขอนแก่น ในช่วงการระบาดใหญ่ของเชื้อไวรัสโคโรนาสายพันธุ์ใหม่ 2019

หลักการและวัตถุประสงค์: การฆ่าตัวตายเป็นปัญหาสุขภาพที่สำคัญทั่วโลกโดยเป็นสาเหตุส่วนใหญ่ของการเสียชีวิตก่อนวัยอันควร อัตราและวิธีการฆ่าตัวตายมีความแตกต่างกันตามเพศ ช่วงอายุ บริบททางสังคม อัตราการฆ่าตัวตายในจังหวัดขอนแก่นประเทศไทยเพิ่มสูงขึ้นในช่วงปีที่ผ่านมา การศึกษาอุบัติการณ์และรูปแบบวิธีการฆ่าตัวตายจะช่วยให้เกิดความเข้าใจและสามารถวางแผนในการรักษาพยาบาลเบื้องต้นได้ โดยเฉพาะในสถานการณ์ปัจจุบันนี้ที่มีเหตุการณ์การแพร่ระบาดของไวรัสโคโรนา 2019 โควิดมาเกี่ยวข้อง การศึกษานี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาอุบัติการณ์และวิธีการฆ่าตัวตายของผู้ป่วย เพื่อที่จะเข้าใจพฤติกรรมการฆ่าตัวตายมากขึ้นและสามารถป้องกันการฆ่าตัวตายและเตรียมพร้อมดูแลรักษาผู้ป่วยพยายามฆ่าตัวตายได้
วิธีการศึกษา: การศึกษา retrospective descriptive study เก็บข้อมูลจากเวชระเบียนผู้ป่วยที่พยายามฆ่าตัวตายที่เข้ารับการรักษาที่แผนกฉุกเฉินโรงพยาบาลขอนแก่นระหว่าง มีนาคม 2563 ถึง กรกฎาคม 2564 ใช้สถิติเชิงพรรณนาในการวิเคราะห์ข้อมูล
ผลการศึกษา: พบอุบัติการณ์ผู้ป่วยพยายามฆ่าตัวตาย 408 ราย (ร้อยละ 0.30) ส่วนมากเป็นเพศหญิง(ร้อยละ 53.2) มีช่วงอายุ 15-24 ปี (ร้อยละ 32.8) สถานภาพโสด (ร้อยละ 64.2) อาชีพรับจ้าง (ร้อยละ 48.5) วิธีที่ใช้ฆ่าตัวตายที่พบมากที่สุดคือการใช้ยาเกินขนาด (ร้อยละ 39) และการใช้สารเคมี (ร้อยละ 33.8) ส่วนชนิดของยาเกินขนาดที่ใช้มากที่สุดคือ Acetaminophen และชนิดสารเคมีที่ใช้มากที่สุดคือ น้ำยาล้างห้องน้ำ
สรุป: อุบัติการณ์ของผู้ป่วยพยายามฆ่าตัวตายในช่วงการแพร่ระบาดของเชื้อไวรัส COVID-19 คือร้อยละ 0.30 ผู้ป่วยส่วนใหญ่เป็นเพศหญิง ช่วงอายุระหว่าง 15-24 ปี วิธีที่ใช้ฆ่าตัวตายที่พบบ่อยคือการใช้ยาเกินขนาดและการใช้สารเคมี
