Abstract

The investigation of effect of flowers cutting on yield production and seed quality of glory lily was conducted at Huaysia Research and Development Center, Amphoe Cha-am, Phetchaburi province during May 1995. The experimental design was Ramdomized Complete Block with four replications. Four year -old rhizomes of glory lily wee planted in the field. They were buried at 5 inches depth, the row and hill spacings were 1x1 meter. When the glory lily gave flowers about 80 percents, the flowers in each plot wee cut to 90 , 60 and 40 flowers per plant andnot cut as control.
The results indicated that growth and yield of glory lily in every plots such as seed weight, pod weight, and rhizome number from each plot were not different. However, the rhizome weight in uncut flower plots was higher than the plots of 90, 60 and 40 flowers per plant. The pod nuber in 90 flowers per plant was higher than the uncut flower plot.
