dbFRec for DOS : A Database for Fertilizer Recommendaion Program

Abstract

Database for Fertilizer Recommendation (dbFRec), using dBASE IV for DOS program to create recommendation on soil improvement and fertilizer usage of 57 crops type including rice, field crops and horticulture crops. The program can be used on ThaiLS of MS-DOS or iRC VGA Pro card with TIS Thai code which can be easily transferred to run on WINDOWS database system. The recommendation was arranged and classified into categories, such as application of chemical fertilizer, organic fertilizer, biofertilizer, soil improvement material, secondary nutrients and micronutrients, or combine application of these fertilizers to provide the foundation of package recommendation. The recommendation database can be linked with registered of the two systems. The Soil-Fertil;izer-Crop Database obtained from this linkage also demonstrated a prototype system of information network between related Divisuons within the Department of Agriculture. The group training program will be provided for requested agencies. Since the program was created by the DOA soil scientist, thus it was submitted to the Department of Agricultlure for registered product similar to the registration for crop variety.
