Abstract

From colloection of Thrips in fruit crops throughout the country during 1988 - 1991 for classification and identification, there were 13 species found belonging to 3 families as follows : Phlaeothripidae : Haplothrips sp., Aeotothripidae : Aeotothrips sp., Stomatothrips sp., and Thripidae : Astrothrips sp., Selenothrips rubrocinetus Giard., Scirtothrips dorsalis Hood., s. oligochaetus Karny., Scolothrips sp., Megalurothrips sp., frankliniella sp., Thrips colloratus Schmutz, T. hawaiiensis Morgan and T. parvispinus Karny. Each species was identified with illustration. Many species of thrips found were new record.
