This study compared the stability performance of 3 promising lowland rice lines at 5 locations. Seedlings of SPRLR82216-23-1, SPRLR82216-26-1, SPRLR82216-26-1-3 and the standard check, SPR60, were transplanted in August 1989. Each plot consisted of 5 row of 21 hills spaced 25 x 25 cm between hills and rows with 3 seedlings per hill. fertilizer was applied at the rates of 6-6-6 and 6-0-0 kg/rai of N-P2O5 -K2O as basal and top dressing applications. The grain yields from all locations were used to calculate the regression coefficient (b1) for determining the stability performance of promising lines as described by Eberhart and Russell (1966).
The three promising lines had higher stability performance than SPR60, indicating that different environments had less effect on the yield performance of the three than on that SPR60.
