Abstract

The survivial of Ersinia chrysanthemi pv. zeae, which causes corn stalk rot diseasr, was studied in the field at thamung, Kanchanabrui Province. In a RCB experiment with 5 treatments and 4 rsplication, choped infected corn stem was mixed in the soil at different levels; in top soil and at 10, 20 and 30 cm. depth. Chopped healthy corn stems mixed with soil served at control. The soil was sampled every 2 weeks after planting. The survival period of the disease was up to 6 weeks and survival tended to be the highest at 2 weeks after being buried at 20 cm. depth.
