Abstract

Biological control of fruit tree pests has been successful for over one hundred years, and has been developed for commercial use. The United States of America and the People's Republic of china are among many countries of the world where research results are very promising and can be application of the entomogenous mematode (Neoaplectana carpocapsae Weiser) on Langsat tree has given good control of teh bark eating caterpillar, Cossus sp. Nuclear Polyedoris Virus (NPV) also can effectively control the bolloworm, Heiliothis armigera Hubner which causes citrus damage. So the biological control by using natural enemies is a very promising control measure which can be integrated to other control methods in teh pest management system.
