Cropping Pattern Testing in Corn Based Area at Chanthaburi Province

Cropping patterns testing in corn-based area were conducted under rainfed conditions in four farmer's field at soidao, chanthaburi province in 1989. There are four cropping patterns namely soybean-corn, groundnutcorn, mung bean-corn and corn-soybean (farmer practice). It was found that growing soybean as the firs tcrop followed by corn gave the highest net return of 3,429 baht/rai, grain yield of soybean and corn were 252 and 650 kg/rai. groundnut-corn gave the net return of 1,827 baht/rai with the yield of 514 and 662 kg/rai. Growing mungbean followed by corn gave the net return of 1,309 baht/rai, grain yield of both crop were 166 and 621 kg/rai. Growing corn as the first crop followed by soybean gave the lowest net return of 932 baht/rai with grain yield of 635 and 160 kg/rai. Farm gate price of the product was 14 baht/kg for the first crop of soybean sold as seed. Groundnut and mung bean were 4 and 8 bath/kg The first crop of corn was 2.50 baht/kg whereas the second crop of corn was 2.70 baht/kg For soybean grown as the second crop sold at 7.20 baht/kg
