Abstract

A sdries of fertilizer trials were conducted in farmers fields between 1986 to 1988 in Nakhon Sawan province, to measure the response of corn in on - farm trials on soils of the Takhli and Pak Chong series. An economically profitable return was obtained from an application of urea at a rate of 138 kg/ha for corn grown on Takhli soils; a profitable response to phosphorus fertilizer application was not obtained. Profitable responses were obtained to the application of both nitrogen an dphosphorus when corn was grown on Pak Chong soils; the recommended application being the combination of 81 kg urea and 156 kg of the compound fertilizer 16-20-0, per ha. The most appropriate application time was 20 days after emergence of the corn.
