Use of Plant Extracts for the Control of Insect Pests – A Review
Abstract
The paper undertakes a review of various aspects of the interrelationships between plants and insert pests. Greatest emphasis in the paper in on the various types of naturally occurring plant chemical components and their action in acting as antecedents, deterrents, in antibiosis, etc. Factors to be taken into account in introducing naturally occurring plant chemicals for control of insect pests in cropping situations are also considered. The paper refers mainly to the possible use of the method of insert pest control under conditions in Thailand.
