Partial Life-Tables of Insect Pests of Jasmine
Abstract
The partial life-tables of four insect pests of jasmine were studied in the period June to November in 1985 and 1986, in Si Sa Ket province in Northeast Thailand. The jasmine flower caterpillar (Hendecasis duplifascialis Hampson) was the major pest and had a mortality rate of between 47 - 53 percent. It was attacked by three parasites, the braconid parasite being the major cause of mortality. Secondary pests of jasmine were Margaronia laticostalis, Nausinoe perspicata and Archips micaceana; they had mortality rates of 34 - 44 percent, 20 - 30 percent, and 17 - 34 percent, respectively. Apanteles sp. was the main cause of mortality in larvae of these species.
