Glassware for Soil Boron Analysis

Abstract

Three types of glassware were compared for undertaking boron analysis: (i) boron free glass mixed with polyethylene, (ii) old borosilicate glass and, (iii) new borosilicate glass. The results demonstrated that there was little difference between the first two types of glassware, thereby allowing scope for using old borosilicate glass in place of born free glass. New borosilicate glass often produced erroneous results and should therefore not be used.
