Species of Ganoderma and Allied Genera in Thailand

Abstract

Some mushroom species of the Ganodema and allied genera are classified as woun dparasites of living tesss; they are also found on dead trees, stumps and logs. This group of fungi are also known to have some medicinal value.
This paper reports on part of a study of the occurrence of this group of fungi in Thailand. Seventeen specimens of a collection are described and identified, based on a comparison of morphological characters. They were identified as Ganoderma applanatum (Leys. ex. Fr.) Karst, G. colossum (Fr.) Bres., G. lucidum 9Leys. ex Fr.) Karst, and Amouroderma rugosum (Nees) Bose.
