Abstract

Suwan I corn variety was planted in pots with the application of nitrogen ferogen fertilizer in different forms : digested slurry from biogas plant, ammonium sulfate, and ammonium sulfate-diested slurry combinations, having four different ratios ; 1:1 . 1: 2 , 1:3 and 1:4, The objective of this experiment was to study the effects of differnet forms of nittogen fertilizer on the increasing growth rate. Plant height, plant dry weight, and total nitrogen uptake measured at 45 days after planting were recorded. The results showed that digested slurry alone gave slight positive effect over the check. In comparing with the ammonium sulfate alone , the application 1:1 ammonium sulfate:digested slurry conbination did not show significant difference in the increased rate of plant growth. Therefor, it was evident that this particular 1:1 ratio could be recommended to be used in place of ammonium sulfate alone since it could reduce the imput cost and at the same time, increase soil fertility. Other rtio combinations were not acceptable because the rate of plant growth was significantly delayed.
