Abstract

Kenaf (Hibiscus sabdariffa var. altissima) is one of the economically important crops in Thailand for which a significant export income is derived from retted kenaf. This paper describes the classification and separation of the fiber, pectic substances, pectic enzymes, microbiological processes and factors effecting kenaf retting.
