Abstract

Wrightia religiosa is   endemic    species   found   only in Thailand, which is  a   rare   and endangered species. A   study of tissue   culture   is another   way   to increase the   number.   The young   leaf   of    Wrightia religiosa. was cultured on Murashige and Skoog (MS) supplemented with  various   concentrations   of  thidiazuron  (TDZ) namely 0.0, 2.0, 3.0 and 4.0 mg/l and 2,4-dichlorophenoxyacetic   acid (2,4-D), at 0.1 mg/l,  and  shoot   tip  was  cultured  on   MS supplemented   with   various    concentrations   of   benzyladenine  (BA  at  the   rate  of  0.0, 1.0, 2.0  and  4.0  mg/l).The  results   showed   that   MS   with  4.0  mg/l  TDZ cooperate  0.1  mg/l 2,4-D  induced   the  highest  percentage callus  of  young leaf  at  80,  and  MS  with  4  mg/l BA  induced  the  highest  shoots  of  shoot  tip (8,4 shoot  per explants).
