Abstract

 The objectives of research were to study the botanical morphology of Rang Daeng in Koh Kred. Pak Kred district Nontaburi province as well as local wisdom utilization. Data was collected during January-December 2007. The results were found that Rang Daeng scientific name is “Ventilago denticulate Willd.”. It is scandent, red net bark, ovate to elliptic alternate simple leave, vein and midrib with trachoma covered, racemose inflorescence like raceme, floral formulas indehiscent simple fruit, samara. Botanical morphology of Rang Daeng was compared to the specimen in the Forest Herbarium Office, Royal Forest Department. Specified morphology is similar to the BKF No 137192 (V. denticulate Willd.). The utilization of Rang Daeng from local wisdom was found that Rang Daeng leaves often used as tea products. The frequently drink can help to cure diuretic, reduce cholesterol and blood sugar, relaxant, strengthen health, arthritis, reduce blood pressure and diet. Rang Daeng was also one of the significant OTOP (one Tumbon(Village) one product) and had been registered as rights patent No. 4139.
