Abstract

Brachystoma muankai n. sp. (Diptera: Empidoidea: Brachystomatidae) is described from the mountain Doi Inthanon, Chiang Mai Province, northern Thailand. This is the first occurrence of Brachystoma Meigen and the subfamily Brachystomatinae in the Oriental (Indo Malayan) Realm.
