Abstract

A representative of the orchid genus Satyrium was recently discovered in Thailand which is a new generic record for the country. On account of having yellow flowers and a pubescent lip base the respective specimens are referred to the Chinese S. yunnanense Rolfe. As they differ from the typical plants of this species by having much longer inflorescences and considerably larger flowers they are here described as a new subspecies longispica Kurzweil and Suksathan.
