SPATIO-TEMPORAL ANALYSIS OF ROAD ACCIDENT IN CHON BURI PROVINCE
Keywords:
Kernel Density Estimation, Average Nearest Neighbor, Road AccidentAbstract
The purposes of this research are to analyze the density and distribution patterns of seasonal accidents in 2012 to 2017. Kernel Density Estimation (KDE) and Average Nearest Neighbor techniques in Geographic Information System (GIS) are used to analyze of accident density and distribution pattern, respectively. The results reveal the rainy season has the highest density of road accidents following by winter and summer. Each season shows a high density of accidents in the same areas such as Sukhumvit Road, Viboonpracharak Road and roads in Pattaya City. The distribution pattern of road accidents is found the clustered pattern in all seasons. The results of this research can be used for planning to decrease accidents in densely populated areas and also used to determine long-term accident prevention policy.
