Cyclic Voltammetric Determination of Acetaminophen in Paracetamol Tablets
Main Article Content
Abstract
A method using cyclic voltammetry has been developed for the determination of acetaminophen in paracetamol tablets. The peak current from acetaminophen in 0.10 mol L-1 phosphate buffer pH 7.0 was measured with a glassy carbon electrode versus Ag/AgCl. The optimum step potential and scan rate were found to be 0.0005 V and 0.1000 V/s, respectively. The linear calibration range was 3-240 μg ml-1, and the detection limit and recovery were 3.0 μg ml-1 and 99.1% respectively. The results have been compared with those obtained by the USP XXII official method.
