Suger cane breeding work in Thailand is carried out in the frame work of a national program. several research centres and agricultural colleges and the Sugar Insititute collaborate in a new selection and zonal evaluation scheme. The application of modern biological and mathematical techniques is expected to improve the effciency of this program.
