Study of Sea Grapes (Caulerpa lentillifera) Production by Using Different Types of Seawater at a Laboratory Scale
Main Article Content
Abstract
The objective of this research was to investigate the yield of Sea Grapes (Caulerpa
lentillifera) grown in mixed sea water in different ratios. Using Completely Randomized Design
(CRD), there were 4 treatments and 3 replications, a total of 12 units. The mixed sea water
included sea water, scientific salt water and salt water in different ratios : 1) 2:1:0 2) 2:0:1 3) 1:1:1)
and 4) 3:0:0 (control). Sea Grapes were cultured for 21 days. The results showed that the 3:0:0
ratio (control) of mixed sea water yielded the highest average weight of 265 ± 5 grams, which was
not significantly different from that of Sea Grapes cultured in mixed sea water 2:0:1 ratio, which
had an average of 226.67 ± 22.54 grams. However, there were significant differences between the
yield from the control and yield from 2:1:0 and 1:1:1 ratios.
