The Simple Organic Matter Analysis by Wet Oxidation Method for Field Study
Main Article Content
Abstract
The objective of this study was to compare the efficiency of the simple colorimetric
soil organic matter analysis by wet oxidation method with the standard method. Fifteen soil
samples were analysed and estimated soil organic matter by 3 levels that were low level
(less than 1.5%), medium level (1.5 – 3.5%) and high level (more than 3.5 %). The results
showed that the organic matters in the 1st, 3rd, 8th, 9th, 10th, 11st, 12th, 13th, 14th, and 15th soil
samples were at low level. The organic matters in the 2nd, 5th, 6th and 7th soil samples were
at medium level and the organic matters in the 4th soil sample was at high level. All results
of the analysis using simple colorimetric soil organic matter by wet oxidation method
corresponded with the results of soil organic matter analysis using the standard method.
