ความเชื่อเกี่ยวกับผีในชุมชนล้านนาเป็นกระบวนการภายใต้ลัทธิบูชาบรรพบุรุษที่สะท้อนทางเลือกในการสร้างเสริมสุขภาพชุมชน ผีในมิติวัฒนธรรมสุขภาพชุมชนเป็นการช่วยเหลือ คุ้มครอง ป้องกันชุมชนเมื่อประสบปัญหาและต้องการความช่วยเหลือและเป็นทางเลือกในการสร้างเสริมสุขภาพจิตของผู้คนภายใต้ความศรัทธาและความเชื่อ ส่วนผีในมิตินิเวศวัฒนธรรมเพื่อการอนุรักษ์และใช้ประโยชน์พืชสมุนไพรพื้นบ้านเป็นการนำภูมิปัญญาพื้นบ้านมาจัดการทรัพยากรธรรมชาติด้วยกฏเกณฑ์ที่ชุมชนเป็นผู้กำหนด
