Publication Ethics

Ethical Standards for Publishing in Health Science, Science and Technology Reviews

Duties of Authors

  1. Authors should report their research accurately, provide ethical critiques of significant implications, and present original data accurately, with appropriate reference to the review process of the editorial board.
  2. Authors are required to ensure that their work is entirely original. Any use of others' work or words must be properly cited or referenced.
  3. Authors should not submit the same research to more than one journal.
  4. Authors should acknowledge and cite work by others.
  5. Authorship should be limited to those who have a significant intellectual contribution to the study, design, management, or interpretation. Contributors who didn't make a substantial contribution should be duly acknowledged.
  6. All authors must review and approve the final manuscript before submission for publication.
  7. Authors should disclose sources of support and confirm the absence of any conflicting interests that could affect the interpretation of the original work.
  8. When authors discover significant errors or inaccuracies in their published work, it is their responsibility to promptly inform the editorial board or publisher and cooperate in correcting or withdrawing the article.

 

Duties of Editors

  1. The editorial board is responsible for deciding which articles should be published.
  2. The editorial board may provide guidance on legal conditions and requirements, taking into account issues such as defamation, copyright, infringement, and plagiarism. Decisions regarding the publication of articles may be made in consultation with the editorial team or reviewers.
  3. The editorial board must assess the content of the manuscript, regardless of the author's background, gender, ethnicity, sexual orientation, religious beliefs, citizenship, or political philosophy.
  4. Editors and the editorial board should maintain confidentiality and not disclose information about submitted manuscripts to anyone other than the author, reviewers, potential reviewers, and the publisher.
  5. Any manuscripts received for review or reviewer comments must be treated as confidential documents and must not be used for personal gain.


Duties of Reviewers:

  1. Peer reviewers assist the editorial board in making decisions and provide feedback to authors for manuscript improvement. The manuscript submitted to the reviewer should be treated as confidential material, and the reviewer should not show or criticize the content of the entire article to others without the permission of the editorial board.
  2. Reviews should be conducted fairly, without personal opinions.
  3. Reviewers should provide evaluations based on a clear standpoint with supporting evidence.
  4. Reviewers should identify published works that have not been cited or mentioned by the author.
  5. If the reviewer identifies observations, sources, or arguments that have been previously published, they should provide appropriate citations to the editorial board.
  6. Reviewers should recommend that the editorial board consider any similarities or overlaps between the manuscript under consideration and previously published articles.
  7. Privileged information or ideas in the manuscript must be kept confidential and not used for personal gain.
  8. The reviewers should not consider evaluating manuscripts in which they have conflicts of interest.

Currently, research studies and experiments involving humans contribute to significant advancements in medicine. These endeavors seek to advance our understanding of epidemiology, the onset of diseases, pathophysiology, diagnosis, prevention, and treatment. To confirm the efficacy and safety of medications and methods, leading to the development of improved diagnostic, preventive, and therapeutic approaches and healthcare. It's understood that research involving volunteers has minimal physical risks but can potentially pose psychological, social, financial, employment, and legal risks.
